INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR – NON-SLIP AND CONTRAST/PHOTOLUMINESCENT EMERGENCY PATH MARKING SYSTEMS
ADA’s anodized aluminum non-slip, contrast step edge strips comprised of silica carbide and photoluminescent material. The insert strips fit into clear anodized aluminum step-edge nosing’s that provide an intuitive, luminous emergency egress path marking navigation system for building occupants and first responders allowing your projects to meet all American and Canadian International Fire Code (IFC) and International Building Code (IBC) requirements followed by the different municipalities.
ADA Solutions clear anodized cast-in-place, flat stair, and tile nosing’s accommodates the 2” (51 mm) ADA insert strips that are perfect for new stairway projects for interior or exterior applications. The nosing’s come in 10ft (3,048 mm) lengths from the factory and can be cut on-site to the step edge length requirements.
Our nosing’s, along with the insert strips, will provide your project with long-lasting and durable slip resistance protection, reducing the risk of slips and falls.
ADA Solutions 2” (51 mm) non-slip contrast step edge insert strip with photoluminescent and carborundum are perfect for new and existing stairway projects of different types of solid hard flooring surfaces for interior or exterior applications. The strips are available in 10ft (3,048 mm) lengths in standard yellow and black carborundum colors from the factory.
Our non-slip contrast step edge strips will provide your project with long-lasting and durable slip resistance protection, reducing the risk of slips and falls.
ADA Solutions introduced our innovative approach to pedestrian safety with our photoluminescent walking surface product called Glow-Dome™. If there is a power failure or another incident that results in a sudden loss of light, our photoluminescent products will provide a distinct visual warning that has proven to be an economical way to significantly enhance emergency preparedness. Photoluminescent detectable warning surfaces deliver many benefits that bolster pedestrian safety without incurring expensive maintenance fees.
Features and Advantages:
- Not dependent on any power source—charged by ambient light
- Provides pedestrians with emergency visual cues
- Integrates performance, function, and appearance to provide pedestrians with a distinct visual cue
- Available in replaceable, retrofit transit, and paver tiles
About ADA Solutions’ Glow-Dome™
Glow-Dome™ tiles are ideal for zones where sunlight or other light sources may not be able to provide continuously adequate illumination, such as publicly accessible areas after dark as well as windowless rooms, hallways, and tunnels. In the event of a power outage, pedestrians who are not accustomed to relying on tactile surfaces may have difficulty finding the correct pathway. Our glow-in-the-dark ADA tiles, which can be integrated into a detectable warning surface, offer easy-to-follow visual guidance to people in the vicinity. Pedestrians will be able to see where they should go and—just as important—where they should not.
Because Glow-Dome™ tiles are not dependent on batteries or electricity, and contain no moving parts, they require very little maintenance. Photoluminescent detectable warning surfaces that use Glow-Dome™ can last for years without needing to be replaced or repaired. They combine the benefits of standard ADA-compliant detectable warning tiles (truncated domes, slip resistance, etc.) with the added security provided by glow-in-the-dark domes that are perceptible even in low-visibility conditions. In some regions, Glow-Dome™ aids compliance with local building codes that require photoluminescent tiles in certain areas.
